Reports To: Program Manager / Direct Support Professional Lead
Qualifications:
-
High school graduate or GED
-
Completion of an accepted Delegated Nursing and MRDD training course
-
Certified in CPR and First Aid through an approved provider
-
Demonstrated competence through practical and written tests
-
Reliable and compassionate
-
Neat in appearance
Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Providing direct care to consumers served by the agency.
2. Providing emotional support to consumers and their families.
3. Following directions of the Lead and Program Manager to meet the consumer’s service needs.
4. Preparing healthy, well balanced meals as well as specific physician-ordered diets.
5. Completing the required number of in-service hours each year to maintain active status.
6. Documenting the services provided as well as turning in paper work within specified time frames.
7. Following safe practices regarding use of Universal Precautions and proper body mechanics.
8. Providing homemaker services if specified in the consumer’s Individual Service Plan (ISP).
9. Demonstrating reliability, timeliness, and responsibility while caring for consumers.
10. Flexibility in scheduling when consumer’s needs unexpectedly change.
11. Ability to work in challenging environments without physical limitations.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
